Welcome to the Third Annual InNOLEvation Challenge – The Jim Moran Institute’s Business Plan Competition
We are excited to offer all currently enrolled Florida State University students (graduate and undergraduate) the opportunity to participate in this event. The InNOLEvation Challenge is hosted by The Jim Moran Institute for Global Entrepreneurship and the College of Business.
In Stage 1 of the contest, potential competitors will submit a 1-2 page Business Abstract by the Friday, October 18 deadline. After reviewing the submittals, a team of judges will select up to 40 teams to advance to Stage 2 – Business Plan Development. Competitors will have the opportunity to attend a series of optional Business Plan Development Workshops. The first step in the third and final Stage will be the submission of the complete Business Plan absolutely no later than March 7, 2014. The presentation of Business Plans will occur in front of an audience of judges and potential investors on Friday, April 11, 2014.
How to Get Started
Prior to submitting your Business Abstract please review the Eligibility, Requirements and Sign Up sections of this web site. The InNOLEvation Challenge uses the Kauffman Foundation’s iStart platform to manage submittals and notifications. To get started, one and only one, team member should click the iStart button under the Sign Up tab. There are 3 steps to complete your submittal:
- Create an individual account
- Submit your business
- Upload your Business Abstract
All 3 steps must be completed no later than Noon EST Friday, October 18, 2013. You will be able to make changes to your application and/or Business Abstract until the deadline.
There is no entry fee associated with The InNOLEvation Challenge.
Changes to InNOLEvation Challenge Rules
While not anticipated, the rules and prizes are subject to change at the discretion of Florida State University at any time. The Florida State University staff has the right to interpret these rules according to its own judgment.
Decisions regarding the Competition and the Winners
All decisions regarding the competition rules, procedures, and processes are at the sole discretion of Florida State University. Changes and/or interpretations of these rules may be made by Florida State University at any time, even though they may be (or may appear to be) in conflict with previously published information. The selection of the teams to compete and the decision of the winners are at the sole discretion of the judges and Florida State University. Every effort will be made to make decisions in accordance with this Official Rules document.
Use of InNOLEvation Challenge Materials
Florida State University reserves the right to use any material prepared for the InNOLEvation Challenge in publicizing and promoting the event. Florida State University may use these materials in any printed materials and any videotape or other medium that it may produce. Florida State University may videotape any portion of the Competition and utilize these tapes in any way that its sees fit.
